Creating applications in SharePoint
Ticket Tracking Systems
Configuration Databases
Training Systems
It is no picnic in the system administration department, but it does do a lot of things (Office Related) really well.

Minutes from The Dawson Office
I will be creating the website within the month and you can check on it at www.thedawsonoffice.com. It is going to have to be a well designed and impressive site. I plan to integrate many Flash elements into the design, as well as keep it optimized for Search Engines.
I am realizing that there is so much to a domain name when it comes to Search Engine Optimization and internet marketing. The Dawson Office is a pretty strong name. It is short enough to be easy to remember and type (as opposed to The Dawson Enterprise). I think that I can easily get it up to #1 on Google without any expensive SEO campaigns.
Anyway, I'm working hard. I am still on contract at LM and have taken on several clients. I have recently finished a Small Biz CMS at www.havana-granite.com. They are on google under keyword "havana granite" "havana-granite" . Bing still hasn't picked it up, and haven't really checked on Yahoo yet.
Next time..

PS - I love Windows 7

What an amazing OS! I was really struggling with the decision to leave Microsoft and jump on the Linux bandwagon. My web server is running Ubuntu 9.04, and I set up multiple flavors of Linux as workstations. I really like Linux, but for media, publishing and entertainment it has a long way to go. Applications such as GIMP are really great, but just don't compare to a nice Adobe CS4 Design studio on top of Windows 7.
I am running a Core i7 processor with 12gb RAM so the design studio is definitely more like a server. I have 2 RAID configurations (RAID 0 on boot, RAID 5 for Data) going on the workstation and that allows for something called Fault Tolerance. Basically, if one hard drive fails the others in the RAID would still work for me, and I wouldn't lose any data on the computer.
On the machine, at any given time, I have about 20 applications going. You can see them in the taskbar. At the time of the Screenshot I was using about 6 gb of RAM. The 8 processors are barely working (because all I am really doing is blogging).

http://www.google.com/chrome -
I've been playing with it for a while now but now that I look at it the little green, red, yellow, blue thing thing kinda looks like a jacked up security camera. Is google spying on us? Decide for yourself.

Oh Nine, 09, o-9…
My family is awesome, and thank to them for every bit of support that they’ve given me. I don’t want to get to personal here (some things are still sacred) but just know that my family is everything to me. I am looking for the best ways to deal with them because they are also my most difficult occupation.
My business is doing okay, my full time job is pretty good too. Although the business is highly political, disorganized, and seems to lack accountability, it is stable. The people that I get to work with are really amazing in their own ways. I hope that we manage to stay in touch and have several opportunities to work with them.
With apps like Facebook, MySpace, LinkedIn and this Blogger account those relationships are easier to maintain than they ever had been. On Facebook for instance, I got in touch with a buddy that had been a friend in middle school and high school, and now he lives around the corner from me with his two kids and wife. Our parents actually grew up together in the same neighborhood.
So, here’s to the New Year. I wish everyone the best, and encourage them to be the best that they can be in whatever they are striving for.

XP - Vista Downgrading

I have a new IBM X60 notebook with 80GB SATA HD which comes with Vista BE. How could i downgrade it to XP Prof. as the IBM doesn't come with any restore CD. I have the media & installation ID on the XP Prof.
Thanks"
Month and a half later:
Installing Windows XP on a computer that currently is running any edition of Windows Vista requires a "clean install". This is accomplished by booting form the Windows XP CD, deleting the hard drive partition containing the Windows Vista installation, then creating a new partition and formatting the partition NTFS. Detailed instructions can be viewed here:
How to Perform a Clean Install of Windows XP:

After your clean install of Windows XP is accomplished, please visit the Windows Update web site to download all the latest updates for Windows XP."

Hello world!
September 2, 2008 by danielson128… and what?

Turned 28 today. It seems like my life is passing by so quickly. I bet a lot of people say that type of shit. I’m having fun though. Rylea is awesome, and so is Britt. She took me skydiving for the first time on Saturday. It was effin’ sweet.
I have a bunch of blogs going. But I am starting to use Contribute and hopefully they will be easier to manage, or it’s even possible that I will collapse everything into Blogger & WordPress,
I recently rebuilt my computer so I will talk about all that soon. I have some great pics, but I still haven’t figured out a good solution for pics. Probably Flickr. Stay tuned.

There should be a lot of cool information to come, but for now I am going to go enjoy my mom's prime rib, and chit chat with my pop. Hopefully his website www.dbcodenver.com won't come up (cuz it's jacked right now). :p
